Please give us a short summary of your website?
Games Zombie is a free website for games, featuring more than 1200 free online games - including classic games such as Super Mario, Tetris and Bejewled. Games Zombie is well suited for kids and is updated daily.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I was inspired by the fact that there are so many websites for games in the world; but only a handfull that are any good. In addition to this, I think that the entire market for games and gaming is still very much untapped.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first website in 1998, I think. It was just my very own portfolio, showing the world that I mastered Photoshop and HTML.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted something unique and catchy, yet something that contained the word "games" in the URL. This because of search engine optimalization, of course.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Well, there is a lot of competition out there, but I think Games Zombie has a very wide selection of games - and it's updated daily. A lot of the other websites for online games are very stale.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My final destination is to have created something like Miniclip.com; a kind of MTV for the internet generation.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
My work is my inspiration and fuel for life; I'm already reaping the profits in terms of happiness and a feeling of self-worth.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Not much, to be honest. It's all a matter of search engine optimalization, really - and you don't have to spend a lot of money doing that.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. The website is scalable for success, and we have a great team behind it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None too major. We've got quite a large budget for this website, so we can cover most of our costs immediately.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting the time to work on the website. It requires minute attention.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Generating good, healthy content that people actively seek out.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Well, I only started it two months ago - so up till this point, not much.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've run the site for 2 months now, but I bought the domain for 10 years... I'm in this for the long run.
So what's the URL that everybody should visit?
Well, I think I said it already, didn't I? http://www.gameszombie.com - of course!
