I am enthusiastic about container gardening. I have done it for a couple of years and I still get a kick out of doing so. It is really beneficial to reuse containers for planting new kinds of plants. As a matter of fact, my friends tend to follow the same process because it is such a wise idea to do it. Every season I harvest and grow new plants on the same containers. So here's what I do, In Spring, I plant asparagus and tomato. After pulling them out, I compost the soil. I start planting broccoli and cabbage in Fall using the same containers. It just cycles and it's really fun.
